SURABAYA – The commitment to strengthening the youth entrepreneurship ecosystem continues to expand. The Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni (Mawal) of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) successfully held the Unesa Entrepreneurship Seminar 2026 at the Home Theater Room, 1st Floor of the Unesa Rectorate Building, on Thursday (08/27/2026).
Aimed at fostering young entrepreneurs who are competitive and ready to excel in national business competitions, the event featured Yongky Lio, S.T., M.B.A., Director of kocial.id, as one of the key speakers alongside practitioners and academic experts.
The event was officially opened by the Director of Student Affairs and Alumni of Unesa, Dr. Muhamad Sholeh, M.Pd., who emphasized the importance of building an entrepreneurial mindset amidst rapid digitalization and fierce global competition. A total of 100 innovative students and 20 faculty advisors across various faculties filled the room with high enthusiasm.

Building Business: “Profit + Impact”
During his presentation, Yongky Lio highlighted the shifting paradigm in modern business. According to him, contemporary business is no longer just about pursuing profits, but must integrate social impact into its operational model (profit with purpose).
“Today’s business focus is no longer just about chasing profits, but also delivering a real social impact. This combination of ‘Profit + Impact’ is what makes a business sustainable and relevant,” explained Yongky the Director of kocial.id.
In addition to sharing visions of social impact, Yongky provided practical steps for beginner student founders, including:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Optimization: Leveraging AI tools to accelerate market research, content creation, and operational automation.
- Lean Team Efficiency: Building nimble, adaptable teams focused on fast execution with minimal resources.
- Traffic & Network Expansion: Maximizing digital channels so that local brands and products can compete without geographic limitations.
Synergy Towards National Competitions
The insights shared by kocial.id were further reinforced by two other speakers. Zahra Tsabita Nugroho, S.Kom. (a KMI Expo award winner) shared best practices on product idea validation leading to success on the national stage. Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmad Bashri, M.Si. (Entrepreneurship Expert at Mawal Unesa) deeply explored technical strategies for drafting solution-oriented business proposals and delivering compelling pitches to judges.
The presence of faculty advisors in this forum serves as a key pillar in strengthening the campus business incubation system. It is hoped that the collaboration between industry insights from practitioners like kocial.id, faculty guidance, and Unesa students’ creativity will give birth to outstanding business proposals ready to win competitions at both national and global levels.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the speakers, and a group photo session with all participants.
